The definition of Lunar Transient Phenomena (L.T.P.) is a short lived phenomenon observed on the Moon. This can consist of red glows, flashes, obscuration, and abnormal albedo and shadow effects. The purpose of the program is to assist the ground based observers, with information on the technique of how to observe and document this phenomena. For the lunar researcher this site will be source document to assist them on the historical data, research being conducted by Association of Lunar & Planetary Observers, A.L.P.O. and the American Lunar Society A.L.S. and other lunar research organizations. This web site will also be used to post the latest L.T.P. reports with the opportunity for other observers to examine the data submitted. Also coordinated observing program results will be on the web site to give a more immediate feedback on the observers participation.
If you have been an active observer of the Moon and feel this program is for you feel free to look over the L.T.P Manual or contact the L.T.P Coordinator by email here for more information.
